sbobet online 24 When Javier Hernandez was signed by West Ham United in the summer, there was little doubt that the acquisition of the Mexican striker would work out to be an excellent one.

After all, wherever he'd played in the past, be it Guadalajara, Manchester United, Real Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen, plus with his national team, he consistently scores goals. Indeed, bringing in a proven goalscorer at the highest level who was in his prime, and cost a reasonable £16 million from Leverkusen, appeared a pretty failsafe piece of business.

The assumed recipe for success, unfortunately, hasn't entirely worked out, however, as the Hammers have had quite the turbulent season, which has had a detrimental effect on Hernandez's capacity to perform to his best.

Although he's scored a decent seven goals in 24 matches, the man bought in and admired by Slaven Bilic, who was later sacked in November, has found opportunities a lot more difficult to come by since David Moyes was installed as manager last November. sbobet online 24

The fact he's started just five of the 20 games Moyes has been at the helm for depicts his struggles. Even though injuries have played a part, his frustration at his predicament even led to him wanting to leave the Irons in January so he could get himself vital minutes ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

"There has always been speculation as to whether I will stay or leave and I cannot guarantee anything. I have two more years of contract with West Ham, and everything will come up," he recently explained.

"You never know, because in the winter period I wanted to find my way out to have more minutes and could not."

Although he eventually stayed put, all the signs point to him exiting the club in the summer after just one year at the London Stadium.

A brilliant finisher, whose cunning runs in behind the defence, instinctive movement into the box, set-piece threat and energetic defensive pressing make him a huge weapon, it'll certainly be interesting see where the 29-year-old will be plying his trade next term.

Despite his time at West Ham being surprisingly disappointing so far, at least Hernandez has the World Cup in the summer to look forward to. sbobet online 24

Unai Emery can test Pep Guardiola when Arsenal host Manchester City

3mbet It is just one of the reasons why City are so strongly fancied to make a winning start to their title defence at the Emirates Stadium. The work has only just begun for Arsenal under their new head coach, but City were irresistible last season and picked up where they left off against Chelsea on Sunday. Emery has never beaten Guardiola. Why should that change now?.Manchester City are strong favourites against Arsenal on Super Sunday but Unai Emery's history with Pep Guardiola suggests it could be closer than many expect. Nick Wright revisits their rivalry and finds out how Emery's Valencia became a formidable foe for Guardiola's Barcelona.

On the face of it, Unai Emery's record against Pep Guardiola does not offer much hope to Arsenal supporters ahead of Sunday's Premier League opener against Manchester City. The two men are familiar foes from their days in charge of Valencia and Barcelona between 2008 and 2012. But Emery did not win any of their 10 meetings. It is certainly a daunting start, but Emery's record of no wins, four draws and six losses against Guardiola is somewhat deceptive. In reality, he tested the Catalan like few other managers in La Liga. Barcelona inflicted some heavy defeats at the Nou Camp, but they only won once in five games at Mestalla. Guardiola had a better record at the Bernabeu than he did there.

3mbet It could easily have been worse for him, too. Barcelona were historically good under Guardiola, perhaps the best club side of all-time, but in four of those five meetings at Mestalla they had to come from behind to draw. At a time when Barcelona were sweeping aside all before them, games against Valencia were usually tense and tactically tight."I have a great, great, great opinion of Unai," said Guardiola in 2011. "When you watch his teams, you can see there is sense to everything they do. It's not by chance that in recent years they have rivalled two teams with much higher budgets like Barcelona and Real Madrid."
